The Professional Training Centre of this client provides training for eight separate companies within the group. They were looking for a way to homogenise the training in order to promote a common culture across the affiliates. They had recently defined their core competency framework and asked us if we could combine that with the Vision and Values to create a meaningful internal qualification.
To develop a progressive training programme that offers skill development to meet internal corporate objectives and improve the workforce’s transferable skills at the same time
We thought that the rigours of an accredited programme might best suit the need for transferable skills – external rather than internal qualification. But how to approach those specific competences, vision and values? We would have to write this qualification ourselves in cooperation with the client. We approached Edexcel for approval of our specifications to create a modular
At the same time, we created the second step, Diploma level, to address the remaining core competences and to allow longer-term planning for individual development across the eight companies.
Our staff have been trained as internal verifiers, we have worked with the client on procedures and assisted in the promotion of the new concept to the training department of each company in the group.
